I like to think that I am a good friend, sister, daughter and wife... but there are days where I think what has happened to my life. SOOOOOOOO many things have changed in the last 6 months, some things I have really enjoyed and some things I have learned to just get over... or try to get over!

My family has become my best friends, not that we weren't close before, we are just even more close now. I have gained an even better relationship with my husband since renovating our kitchen/diningroom/familyroom. I wouldn't change it for the world! I wouldn't change having my dad at my house everyday after work helping us, teaching us, and spending some time with us. My dad is a very loving, patient, and caring man. He also isn't afraid to tell us what we have done wrong even if it will hurt our feelings. I love how he wants my house to be the way I want it and not any other way! I love my dad and I'm grateful for the helpful person he is. My mom also is the best for making us meals even if she didn't feel good, because she didn't want us to go hungry! I also love going home for lunch to hang out with her for that little amount of time! She is the best and I don't know what I would do without her!
One day I was going to hang out with my sisters for Brandi's birthday and jokingly Gentry said you can't say you are having a girls night when its your sisters, you have girls nights with your girl friends. I proceeded to ask him hey dude what are you doing tonight then... he said well I was thinking of calling kyle to go to dinner... bahaha my point proven we have NO FRIENDS! haha! Since being married I guess we have a fallen off the friend radar, I don't know if that is normal but it seems to be for us! Its sad that it has happened but I can only do so much until I get a little exhausted trying! So we are asking hey be our friends, well if you want of course! haha
I always dreamed of what married life was going to be like.... well what I thought was dropped a long time ago. It has gone completely different then I could ever imagine! That doesn't mean I don't love it tho! I am always striving to be a better person, friend, daughter, sister thats all I can do!

Happenings...

Well sorry for the long month of silence! I haven't had a dang computer and im glad to not be blog stalking on my little phone anymore! Well for those of you that don't know about my super awesome life I will let you know what has been going on in the Shumway house. Well before my birthday we started renovating.... well its definitely coming along! I haven't taken any pictures of the house yet because the pantry is almost done, just waiting for some time to show up to build the shelves. We just have painting, cabinet painting, lights, and flooring to do in the kitchen/diningroom/ familyroom. It sounds like a lot but Im so excited because to me it sounds like its almost finished! We have had a couple bumps in the road... Since Gentry got the house and now with doing renovations we almost have a whole new house! Haha we have gotten a new fridge, washer, hot water heater, and now comes the new roof! Its kind of exhausting trying to keep up with all of this but I guess it comes with owning a house... so everyone tells me!

Even through all these stresses we have a found time to have some fun! For christmas Gentry bought us season tickets to 6 flags which also come with season passes to the water park! A couple of us bought them so we planned a trip and it was a blast! Amanda, Me, Gentry, Kyle (gentry's brother), Bret, Andrea, Heather, and Amy went! It was a fun group! It was mostly exciting to see how Gentry was on the rides! He hadn't been since he was a young kid and I grew up going to 6 flags so it wasn't anything new to me! We went on X2 and Im not kidding you I bet the people in front of us thought the mr was a freak! He screamed the ENTIRE time on the ride! haha it was beyond hilarious! We also went on the bungie swing thing... They pull you up probably 175 ft maybe in the air and you pull a cord and it drops you and you start swinging, it is beyond scary but fun! Gentry had never been before and I have done it once before but halfway when they were pulling us up I looked up at hime and said ummmmm I am getting kinda nervous and his response was yaaa we are idiots! haha but in the end he LOVED it. It rained almost the whole time we were there so sometimes we didn't even have to get off the ride because everyone was leaving! I love it when that happens!

I also have had some awesome times with the niece and nephew. Im not kidding you those kids melt my heart! I have been watching them after I get off of work and it has been fun playing and bonding with them. I personally thing Carston boy is the most dreamy looking boy in the world. His hair is my love, not kidding I WILL NOT let sommer cut it! It has to stay long otherwise I think he would look ridiculous! He is starting to roll and roll and roll. He also is the jumpiest kid ever. When you stand him on your lap he just jumps and jumps and jumps, I honestly get exhausted just holding him, all the up and downs are tiring! Shel bell makes me laugh so hard! She is the funniest kid ever! She plays the piano and sings to the left to the left by beyonce! I went with her, sommer and sommers friend + kids to the zoo and it was a blast! Shel is so smart and knows almost all her animals! When we would go to leave and go look at another animal she would say see ya later, in a while crocodile! Also when I am watching her and its "quiet time" aka nap time she pulls her shirt up and says Brittany tickle my back! haha who is this little girl! I hate tickling backs but I still do it for her!

Thats about it... for now! We are going camping over spring break with family and friends so hopefully I'll have some pictures to post.

Good news!! I'm the BIG 22! haha Well it has been a good year and I am glad to be a year older. My sisters planned a ***SURPRISE*** birthday party! ok, we all know I am so hard to surprise and if you don't you do now! But my sisters and G dawg did a good job! The only give away.... dun dun dun was that they were real adamant about us having a vinal party on Friday instead of the Thursday when I was completely bored! Its ok I still had a blast! It was good to have all my family together (both fams!) and friends! Thanks to my sisters setting up and making my 2nd love MEXICAN food! I got some real great gifts! I got a super cute zebra watch from my girl Brein H. and my family-in-laws gave me these super cute decor boxes with a necklace my mom-in-law made! Totally love and hinted that I wanted one! {Im glad she gets my hints, cause sometimes her son doesn't!} She also got me thread and scissors so I can get sewing because I got the sewing machine for Christmas just not the other stuff! I also got zebra cakes {see a theme?!?!} and nuttybars yum-o right?! Not helping my horrible weight gain! Oh well I still love my life! The hubster got me a great deal on a massage which I totally need, Im pretty stoked! He also got me "Did you hear about the Morgans", pretty good movie, also my sistas got me the Last Song... thank goodness I love that movie! I also got a calling in church today, which I bet you can't take a guess what it is..... NURSERY! HAHA I guess thats just my calling in life! I am very excited though and hope I can grow close to these kids like I did in the 61st ward! Just so you all know I miss your kids a ton and hope they are doing fantastic! Tell them Sister Emire aka Lemire loves and misses them! I am also very grateful for my dad and Lance, I'll count their help on my house as one of my birthday presents and all of Gentry's for 10 years and one of my Christmas presents and 10 of Gentry's! Haha just kidding but seriously we owe them a ton! Its not done, but without them none of this would be possible! Anyways I am very very very grateful for my family and friends that made me B-day week so awesome! *Notice how I said birthday week and not birthday day! haha its true my birthday is my Favorite holiday so I make sure it lasts as long as people will let me! So i got a week and I love it!* You really are the best and I couldn't ask for a better life! Here's to you awesome people, thanks for making my life better!

What an eater!

It is a true story that I have the slowest eating husband on the face of this planet!!! Example, I pulled a plate out of the cabinet filled it with salad and cucumbers and ate it and peeled myself an orange and ate it in the time it took him to peel an orange and eat it. Better yet I was finished for probably 10 minutes and heard him still eating his dang orange! You wouldn't think that from this picture but please don't be fooled, i know the truth and he is soooooooooo slow!

Good news..... even though he is slow, I still love him!

We're Back!

Well we are back to the awesome thing called life! I will just give you a summary of the last couple months! We got married November 6th, so we have been married for almost 2 months. It was been a great couple of months. We have been on many trips since then. For our LOVERMOON {honeymoon} we started out in Payson, YES our wedding night we drove to Payson. It was so fun! We stayed at the Majestic and just relaxed and ate at Denny's and MY favorite and the only chinese buffet I will eat at {China Buffet}! If you have never been go, you will not be disappointed! That Monday we woke up at the butt crack of dawn to drive back to Mesa so we could catch our flight to HAWAII! The flight was way long! Longest flight I have ever been on in my life! We started out on Oahu and had all the experience that come with that island. We went to the Polynessian Cultural Center, Pineapple Plantation, different beaches, walk through the temple {it wasn't open for sessions}, shopping, and lastly yes we did snorkle. And now the story about that. Lets say I'm a very stubborn soul. I am not really a water person, yes I'll try something but I am really hesitant about water, Im afraid of drowning and getting eaten by sharks and all that comes with that. On that note my {husband} not anything like me! He loves loves loves the water! He would be a dolphin if he could! He is fearless and I look up to him for it! He took me snorkling and I was a total butt the whole which made it a horrible experience. When he told me to get in the water I really just put my feet in the water and bent over so the only part of me that was in the water was my legs and my goggles... I know butt right?!?! Well he told me to follow him to the {deep water} you could only imagine how I was acting by that point... I followed and I quote "ok, the trick to this is to let the water take you in" thats what he said! Well I didn't want the water to take me in... I didn't even want to go! Well then comes a wave {huge wave} that takes me out and throws me into a HUGE rock! At this point I was bawling my eyes out! I was trying to pull myself up and get back on a rock and here comes another wave and throws me into a couple more huge rocks! I was so finished after that! Gentry came swimming my way worried as could be and said ok we're done! haha Well while we are walking back he tells me to be careful the rocks are slippery, what happens... I slip! The point Im trying to make here is don't follow in my foot steps when it comes to this particular activity! But on a better note our last day there we were at a beach and I totally body surfed for the 1st time!!! woooo hoooo! That next day we were off to Kauai!!! Oh how I loved Kauai! It was so nice and relaxing! Our hotel/resort was gorgeous! The drive up looked like the scene in The Last Song when they are driving up to his house with the tree canopy! This island we went zip lining and kayaking! What a blast right!?!?! I loved it! Thats about it for the lovermoon! It was really enjoyable and I loved spending the week and a half away from reality so I could relax and enjoy my time with the new hubster!

Our next trip my parents surprised us with a family trip for christmas! We all headed up to the mountains {Pinetop} for a nice relaxing Christmas, so we could focus on the real meaning of Christmas. I really loved spending time with my family without the distractions of electronics, gifts, work, and nonsense! I was able to bond with my sisters the way we use to, spend time with my parents, and spend time with my niece and nephew. Ya I do those things on a daily basis but this time was different. It was like old times! We giggled, laughed, joked, wrestled, and bonded! We completed 2 puzzles, rode quads, played I spy with my little eye, 20 questions, I've never, Catch phrase, cards, and Scene it games! We haven't done that in such a long time and made me realize again how much I love spending time with my family!

This Christmas season has been so awesome! I have loved spending it with Gentry! He has been such a good sport with my holiday decorations/parties! I have the best 2nd family! They moved their Christmas so we could spend Christmas weekend with mine. I loved the Shumway dinner, story, and gift exchange. I love just sitting and talking to them. I am very grateful for the 2 families I have in my life and the great support that they are to me and Gentry! Now for the picture over load... Wedding and Hawaii, we don't have any from christmas but thats ok! {enjoy}

I don't get why people insist on telling me this is a short engagement. I am constantly getting asked so whens the big day and I say sadly November 6th. They look at me and say wow you only have a short time! Well good news yo's its not that short.... you try waiting for your awesome eternal future to start! Lets just say I am so excited that in just a day it will be October! Hopefully it goes by much faster then September has!
This has been a bit rocky for me! I feel stressed all the time, life is busy, I am busy, my family is busy, and then try planning a wedding on top of that, well its not so fun! Everyone tells me it should be the funnest time, well I think I am finally getting there! I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! {FINALLY} I am starting to get stuff checked off the never ending list... like location, food, dresses, MY dress, the boys outfits, flowers, pictures, rings... and the list goes on and on! But i realized most of that doesn't even matter, as long as he and I are enjoying our time together!
This kid makes me the happiest! He cares so much about my happiness and Im glad I have him helping me with everything. He has been honestly the best! Anything I ask and he does! He has had just as much input on this shindig as I have! I love it, even tho sometimes I don't like his opinion! I guess that's what happens when you put 2 different people together! But its good to see his side of things.
I am overly excited to be married to the Shummers! It is going to be the coolest thing in the world! I know Shel is going to love it! She is {obsessed} with the kid! For reals, I think I have major competition! {ladies, she wears her heals for him, nuff said!!} Luckily he likes younger chicka's, but not that young! It just a short while we will be a happily married couple and that's all I could ask for right now!
